Greensburg Area Reconstruction Fund Established

The Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas has established the Greensburg Area Reconstruction Fund. This fund is designed to help the community of Greensburg and the surrounding area to begin to heal and rebuild. Recognizing that the rebuilding process will be a long term commitment and that individuals and organizations from around the entire country want to help, the Greensburg Area Reconstruction Fund will provide a means for all of us to help the citizens of Greensburg and Kiowa County.

The Greensburg Area Reconstruction Fund is a “pass-through fund.” This means that, without exception, every donated dollar will go towards reconstruction projects in the Greensburg area.

Checks should be made payable to “Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas” with a memo to “Greensburg Area Reconstruction Fund.” The mailing address is: Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas, P.O. Box 1313, Dodge City, KS, 67801. Donations are eligible for charitable income tax deductions.

The Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas recognizes and commends the many organizations providing disaster relief for the area affected by the May 4, tornado. Disaster relief donations should be sent directly to the American Red Cross, Salvation Army and similar relief organizations.
